This should be tackled as soon as it arises otherwise it is likely to be copied by others and cause resentment among the hard workers. Conduct a one-on-one meeting and share work expectations clearly.  Ask the employee what they might need from you to help deliver effectively and on time. Do not allow this to turn into a cribbing session, the focus should remain on the tasks at hand. Leave the room with clarity on the deliverables and timeline and follow up religiously.
